Improve the appearance of your smile
Orthodontic treatment can correct misaligned or spaced teeth that make your smile unattractive.
Help replace a missing tooth
You can consult an orthodontist to correct certain teeth before replacing one or more missing teeth. This is because the teeth adjacent to a missing tooth have often moved into the edentulous space. As a result, the space required for prosthetic replacement may be inadequate, preventing restorative work in the edentulous area. At the request of the dentist or prosthodontist, the orthodontist can move the teeth to achieve the optimum result for prosthetic replacement.
Correct the anterior-posterior relationship of the jaws
In adulthood, a slight misalignment between the upper and lower teeth can be corrected orthodontically. However, if the problem stems from a larger misalignment between the jaws, surgery may be required. See the ortho-surgery section for more information.
Improving oral health
Overlapping teeth can make dental hygiene more difficult, leading to cavities and gum problems. Orthodontic treatment can help make brushing easier and promote better dental health.
